Years ago after having read his autobiography GIFTED HANDS (it was also made into a movie) I became interested in the life of Ben Carson. I followed his career while he advanced as one of the world's foremost brain surgeons and became the head of the department of brain surgery at Johns Hopkins University. Over the years he wrote other books which I promoted in the school library where I taught and was librarian.
He and I are both now retired. I heard him speak recently in Wabash and he has become interested in running for President. Although he doesn't admit that he is running for office, it is obvious that he would become a Presidential candidate if he thought he could be nominated by the Republican party. There is not a better person for the office in my opinion. He is a genius, a fabulously successful doctor, a university professor, an author, a riveting speaker, and a black conservative commentator who has upset the liberal establishment by telling the truth in a quiet, gentle and kind manner without malice.
His most recent book, AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL chronicles Ben Carson's realistic grasp of American history. For me, he is saying all the right things in his speeches and in his books. Expect the media and both the Democratic and Republican establishments to try to marginalize this great American. Despite his superior intellect, he is a man of the people and one who cannot be bought off or compromised. He is a self-made man who grew up poor on the mean streets of Detroit, and then became wildly successful through hard work, perseverance, and the wise use of his God-given talents.
Dr. Ben Carson is already rich and somewhat famous. His motivation is his love of country and his willingness to serve. He is a patriot who should be elected President in 2016, and he should be reelected in 2020. When he retires for the second time in 2024, he will be about 73 years old and potentially the best president in my lifetime. Check him out for yourself now or you will hear more about him soon, if you haven't already.
